The Devil’s Harp

by Delilah

He handed her a halo

Bathed her in its light

An angel pristine

He made love to at night

She sang lullabies

To his melancholy mood

Danced on moonbeams

Her soul in the nude

She dared not cry

When he took her wings

She laughed she smiled

And wore his purple rings

They watched her bloom

With envious sighs

Blind to the darkness

She hid in her eyes

Now her halo fades

She’s his no more

Playing the devil’s harp

Naked on your floor
